Overall, the enhancements endowed by GBMs will address the challenges that are stunting the proliferation of SSBs. A solid-state battery is essentially battery technology that uses a solid electrolyte instead of liquid electrolytes which are instead behind lithium-ion. Although the chemistry is generally the same, solid-state designs avoid leakage and corrosion at the electrodes, which reduces the risk of fire and lowers design costs because it eliminates the need for safety features. The SSRL Series solid state relays are used to control large resistance heaters in conjunction with temperature controllers. For electric vehicles, this technology's most prominent application would translate to longer range, faster charging, longer-lasting batteries, lower costs and higher safety.
